Important Notes and news

Important notes:

Our vocabulary parade will be OCTOBER 26th..... more information to come!

We are going on a field trip to the Belcher Center located at the Le Tourneau University Campus on Tuesday, October 16th at 9:30am. Please send $3 to cover the cost of admission. MONEY IS DUE TOMORROW! We regret to inform you that due to limited space parents and/or guardians are not able to attend this field trip.

We have NEW six weeks sight words :) They are going home today so be sure to check your child's folder and review the words with them EVERY NIGHT!

Reading benchmark tomorrow

We had our very first math benchmark today! I tested the kids over creating an addition problem and graphing. Tomorrow we will take our Reading benchmark. Please make sure your child is here the day of the benchmark. It is a VERY important test. Thank you :)

Technology Lesson

If I had an apple orchard I would...


Daniel : I will create a world record of making the highest tower with apples.
Kason : I would make an apple popsicle made out of apples.
Lily : I would make apple juice.
Austin : I would have my own apple store.
Miracle : I would cut an apple and put cinnamon on it.
Mayson : I would make apple jello.
Brynlee : I would make apple soup.
Brayden : I would make an apple ice cream cake.
Rene : I would make an apple cake.
Jace : I would make caramel apples and sell them.
Jitzel : I would eat apples everyday.
Caitlyn : I would open up a store and make apple pies.
Matthew : I would open a store and make apple sauce.
Dalton : I would make an apple cake.
Zoe : Make apple ice cream.
George : I would sell apples and eat one apple every night.
Levi : I would make apple pie.
Angel : I would make apple shakes.
Taylor : I would make an apple pie.
Jose : I would eat the apples.

*The students typed their name and learned how to use the (Shift) button to capitalize the first letter in their first letter in their name. We also found the (Space Bar) to create a spaces between our words.

What we are learning about

What are we learning in class and how can I help my child?

  • Reading

  • Review letters and letter sounds
    • Beginning sounds - example: "Cat" starts with the letter.."C"
    • Ending sounds- example: "Cat" ends with the letter.. "T"
    • Short vowels and long vowels - a,e,i,o,u
  • Always practice your sight words EVERY NIGHT

  • Math

  • Number recognition 1-21
  • Number words 1-21
  • Put the numbers 1-21 in order from greatest to least
  • Patterns

Things you can do with your child- Practice counting from 1-21 in the car to and from school. Read your sight words every night. READ READ READ.
